The ancient city of Myra, the capital of the ancient state of Lycia, is unique for its rock tombs and sarcophagi. Here you can see the ruins of the Greco-Roman amphitheater, the acropolis, the walls of the city, built in the 5th century BC.
Saint Nicholas, the prototype of Santa Claus, a patron of innocent convicts, conciliator of enemies, protector of children and sailors, was the bishop of Myra.
It is believed that the sarcophagus where the relics of St. Nicholas, brings healing of ailments, for unmarried – an early marriage. Christians from all over the world come here to ask for help and healing of their children and loved ones. This place still gives the prayers sincerely the fulfillment of desires.
